Maine Ski Resort: Sugarloaf/USA, Maine's largest ski resort, has an elevation of 4,237 feet, 54 miles of alpine ski trails, and 651 acres of the most varied and challenging ski terrain in New England. Snowfall averages 16 feet annually. Sugarloaf's mountainwide snowmaking equipment covers much of the trail acreage, including the famous Sugarloaf Snowfields, the only lift serviced, above-treeline skiing in the East. The season typically runs from mid November through late April. Amenities include a nordic village at base of mountain with more than 40 restaurants & shops including: grocery stores, ski and snowboard shops, specialty shops, real estate offices, a laundromat, two health clubs and an art gallery.
