Biddeford Pool Beach
Type of Beach: 2 mile sandy beach with gentle surf.
Location: Off of Route 208, on the tidal basin side of Biddeford Pool.
Amenities: Bathouse, Lifeguards.
Parking: Sticker parking only, stickers/passes available at City Hall. Permits are $5 for Biddeford residents or out-of-state property owners. Nonresident passes are $50. Parking at the beach after 5 p.m. is free.

Fortunes Rocks Beach
Type of Beach: 3,740 yard sandy beach.
Location: Take Route 9 to Route 208.
Amenities: Portable Toilet. Lifeguards
Parking: Sticker parking only, sticker/passes available at City Hall. Permits are $5 for Biddeford residents or out-of-state property owners. Nonresident passes are $50. Parking at the beach after 5 p.m. is free.

Hills Beach
Type of Beach: 500+ yard sandy beach by Saco Bay. Popular for swimming & bird watching.
Location: Hill's Beach Road, next to the University of New England.
Amenities:
Parking: Very little parking available. Sticker parking only, sticker/passes available at City Hall. Permits are $5 for Biddeford residents or out-of-state property owners. Nonresident passes are $50. Parking at the beach after 5 p.m. is free.

Gooch's Beach
Type of Beach: Soft, sandy beach with gentle surf.
Location: Take Route 35 to Beach Street, or Route 9 to Sea Road.
Amenities: Portable Toilets, Lifeguards.

Middle Beach
Type of Beach: Rocky beach with small areas of sand.
Location: Take Route 35 to Beach Street, or Route 9 to Sea Road.

Goose Rocks Beach
Type of Beach: 3 mile, soft silver sandy beach. Quiet beach popular with beach walkers and shell hunters.

Take Route 9

Restaurants nearby, Trolley access to beach.

Sticker only. Stickers can be purchased at the Town Hall and police station for $5. daily, $20 weekly and $50 for the season. Residents can purchase a season pass for $3.

The Colony Beach
Type of Beach: Small, 150 foot soft, sandy beach with gentle surf located by the mouth of the Kennebunk River.
Location:
Easy access to beach from local hotels and inns.

Restaurants nearby.

Limited on-street parking. a short walk away.

Cleaves Cove Beach
Type of Beach: Small, secluded sandy beach.

Off Ocean Avenue.

Ogunquit, Maine Beaches

Ogunquit Beach
Type of Beach: 3 1/2 mile white, sandy beach with warm surf. The beach is separated from the mainland by the Ogunquit River. The river side offers a protected sand bar on the river side and is favored by families with young children. The main beach faces the Atlantic Ocean.

Beach Road through the center of town.

Foot Bridge Beach
Type of Beach: Sandy beach.
Location:
Cross over a footbridge from Ogunquit Beach.

Moody Beach
Type of Beach: 275 foot sandy beach. May be used only for "fishing, fowling, or navigating."

Off Bourne Avenue.

Old Orchard Beach
Type of Beach: 7 mile soft, white, sandy beach with good surf. The beach is wide enough to accomodate many beach games and sports. Most popular tourist beach in Maine.

Take Route 5 to Staple Street.

Bath House, Showers, Lifeguards, Pier with restaurants and shops, amusement park and arcades. Free concerts, street dances and fireworks displays each week.

Many parking lots which range from $4 to $10 per day.

Sandy beach with salt marshes in the Wells Reserve and the Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge.

Drakes Island Beach
Type of Beach: Quiet, white sandy beach edged by sand dunes, sea grasses, and sea walls. The beach is adjacent to the Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge. Two large stone jetties next to the beach are a popular spot for fishermen.

On Drake's Island Road off Route 1.

Wells Beach
Type of Beach: Popular 7-mile barrier beach. Wide, sandy beaches with rocky ridges and tide pools. It is separated from the mainland by the Webhannet River and is edged with sand dunes and sea grasses...a good place for bird watching.
Location:
Exit 2 off the Maine Turnpike - take Mile Road East.
Amenities:
Public Restrooms, Lifeguards, Restaurant & Food Concessions, Playground, Arcade, Shops, and a Viewing Area with benches.
Parking:
Parking fees are $6 per day from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Parking is free after 4 p.m. Resident stickers are available at the Town Hall. Non-residents can purchase Ten-visit punchcards for $35.

Cape Neddick Beach
Type of Beach: Rocky beach.Also known as Passaconaway Beach, it is popular with locals.

Type of Beach: Small, sandy beach with gentle surf & shaded area. Also known as Mother's Beach.Great views of the Atlantic ocean, a rocky promontory and the Cliff Walk.

Short Sands Beach
Type of Beach: Family oriented, small sandy beach with gentle surf on the Cape Neddick peninsula near Nubble Lighthouse.
Location:
First exit after the toll booth at the end of the Maine Turnpike.
Amenities:
Large Bathhouse, Outside Shower, Playground, Basketball Courts, Pavilion, Lifeguards. There are benches along the boardwalk on the beach, as well as an arcade and bowling alley. The front entrance to York's Wild Kingdom Zoo and Amusement Park is also nearby. Shops and restaurants are within walking distance. Concerts are held in the evenings during the summer months.

Long Sands Beach
Type of Beach: 2,180 yard white, sandy beach with designated surfing area. Popular with swimmers, surfers and beachcombers.
